Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) along with its frontal bodies on Friday resolved to impose total bandh within Chang jurisdiction starting from November 1 onwards, if the state government failed to respond to their 30-day ultimatum which ended on October 28.

The decision was made during an emergency meeting convened by CKS on Friday at CKS Hall Tuensang.

The meeting was attended by Chang Khulei Setshang, Chingmei Range Public Organisation, Confederation of Chang Students’ Union, Chingmei Range Students’ Council and Changsao Thangjam Setshang.

On September 28, CKS had served a 30-day ultimatum on the state government to transfer all DDOs and files of all government establishments concerning six villages– Waoshu, Yimpang, C/Saddle, New Chingmei, Chingmei and Taknyu villages from Noklak district to Tuensang district within 30 days.

However, even after a lapse of 30 days, the apex bodies said that the state government failed to take any positive action on the matter. In this regard, the Chang bodies have decided to impose total bandh under its jurisdiction.
