ICAR Nagaland organises w’shop on pork marketing

One day workshop on pork marketing chains was organised by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Nagaland on November 6 at CBCC Conference Hall, T Chikri, Pfutsero. A press release by ICAR Nagaland stated that the workshop under NASF project “Pork marketing chains in north east India for sustainable livelihood of tribal women (Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland)” was organised to give an overview on pork marketing chains in Nagaland. 

ICAR said the during the workshop issues like pricing information, standardization of pig value chain, capital literacy on credit procedure and guidelines, basic technical approaches with regard to livestock production, waste management, digital application, its handling and its usage, knowledge on artificial insemination etc. to empower tribal women farmers were discussed.

Cluster coordinator Chakhesang Women Welfare Society, Julia Rova gave an introductory session and senior research fellow, NASF Project- ICAR Nagaland Centre Nungshitula Pongener highlighted on all the topics like digital sensitisation on pig production and sales, scientific pig production, bio-security and waste management, financial market literacy, enterprise and business model and packaging and processing methods.
