Hornbill Music festival at Jotsoma and Kisama

 Advisor for Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), Theja Meru has announced that this year’s Hornbill Music Festival will be held at RCEMPA, Jotsoma and Naga Heritage Village, Kisama from December 1 till December 10 from 6 pm onwards.

Addressing a press conference at the Heritage, Saturday, Meru informed that 95% of all acts are local musicians in this year’s edition, while 3 bands from Shillong and Sikkim will also be performing. Altogether, 35 bands or acts will be performing, he informed. Meru said that the music festival is employing around 200 musicians where many good acts can be showcased in this international and world class music event.  

In addition to the music festival, Meru informed that there are pop ups at RCEMPA, which starts at 3 pm. He also announced that there will be a selfie contest, where participants should take two photos during the music festival at Kisama and RCEMPA and #hornbillmusicfestival2021.

Meru said that the winner will be awarded with a huge prize and informed that for dates, bands and activities, one may log on to social media handles of TaFMA Nagaland in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  

He said that Covid-19 signage is in place at the venues to maintain COVID appropriate behaviours.

Meru encouraged young people who like to hangout, love to have coffee and be in the midst of musicians to continue support by buying tickets and cheering them on.  He also appealed to music lovers to continue to patronize the music scene. Meru said so far, the four days music festival has gotten a very good response. He said till 4 December imagi.nation has been managing the event and from December 6, the big stage will come under the management of Live Now Events.  

Meru on behalf of TaFMA thanked event partners for handling such international events.  

He also thanked Parx India as they are not only the fashion partner but also the presenter of the festival.

Project Director TaFMA, Hovithal Sothu informed that a parking arrangement has been made at Kohima Science college ground for the festival at RCEMPA.

Director Live Now Events, Atsung Jamir said that tickets for the music concert at RCEMPA will be available at the venue.
