Students urged to transform society

Minister Soil and Water Conservation, Geology and Mining and NSMDC, V. Kashiho Sangtam called upon the student community to be self-disciplined and be role model to transform the society.

The minister was speaking as a special guest during the quadranscentennial celebration of Longmatra Area Students’ Union (LASU) on Friday at Longmatra Town, informed a press release issued by media cell BJP Nagaland. Through the celebration, Kashiho hoped that LASU would have competitive mindset by rededicating themselves and be a torch bearer in transforming the society and a nation building.  He stated that anniversary or a jubilee was a time for celebration and a time to introspect and retrospect as well and to look out for improvement itself in the weaker areas, if any.

Highlighting the importance of quality education, the minister said, “quality education is the only gate way for a prospect future and the future belongs to those who have well prepared today.”

Kashiho also stressed on the importance of hard work, dedication and sincerity to be successful in a competitive age. Earlier, the monolith was blessed by former ES, USBLA Rev. T Tsangkhuchu while it was unveiled by the minister. The programme was compared by Tethsomong and Tsosingthsi, invocation was pronounced by pastor New Longmatra B/Lithro, Rev Litongri, solidarity speech was delivered by the general secretary USSC, assistant director (Rtd), Z Tsangkhuchu delivered a short speech and Arumong presented a special number.
