Ahead of the “March against AFSPA” (from Dimapur to Kohima), scheduled to take place on January 10, the co-ordinators have informed that the peaceful and non-violent march would commence from Supermarket Dimapur near The Garden at 6 a.m. and hold at Piphema for the night.
On January 11, the march will continue to Kohima at 6 a.m. and will be received by the public and members of various other bodies.
In this regard, the organizers said that all logistics have been arranged for the event.
The organizers further asked participants to carry own sleeping bags, toiletries, torches, necessary gadgets and accessories, for which pickup truck to carry personal belongings have been arranged.
It further advised all to wear walking shoes and maintain a single file of walking to avoid obstruction to traffic.
While urging all to not litter the areas, the organizers also stressed on following Covid SOPs.
For the return journey to Dimapur, the organizers said that buses for transportation have been arranged.
Meanwhile, the organizers fervently appealed all to listen and obey the authorities and not indulge in any form of violence nor destroy public property.
While reminding all that it was purely a non-violent and silent peaceful march, the organizers have requested participants not to show emotions, heckle or harass military personnel on duty or disturb military convoy.
Though ambulances would be available during the event, the organizers have advised those with prior medical conditions or not in good health to not participate in the event.
