KWD rescues two black bears

A team of Animal rescuers from Kiphire Wildlife Division (KWD), led by Wildlife Warden M Limaba rescued two female Black Bears from Shangsa Village, Mon on January 7. 

The rescued wild animals were later transported to Nagaland Zoological Park, Dimapur. 

In a press release, KWD official stated that the bears were reared for almost three years by P Apei Konyak and family of Shangsa village, Tizit. The family in response to department’s awareness creation efforts and to set an example wilfully donated the two black bears. 

The division further expressed gratitude to the family members, veterinary doctor Dimapur, Dr. Micheal, director Intangki National park, Ao Chuba, wildlife warden Dimapur, Tokaho Kinimi and his team for the help and support. KWD also acknowledged Kamhi Wangsa, Shangsa village for information and support.
