Some questions on the order of re-imposition of fresh Covid-19 restriction

The fresh surge of the Covid-19 virus across the country is indeed alarming and the measures taken by the Government of Nagaland is imperative and therefore needs to be honoured.

However, to remove certain doubts, it is pertinent to raise questions on some points of the restriction order {No.NSDMA-ER-COVID19/301/2020 (PART II). DATED KOHIMA the 8th Jan’ 2022)}for clarifications and public perception henceforth.

1. Restriction point/s no. a) and c) says, “subject to all participants being asymptomatic and fully vaccinated (taken both doses) against Covid-19.”

As such, what about asymptomatic and NOT vaccinated participants?

2. Restriction No. d) says, “ if the incoming traveller is not carrying a negative COVID-19 report, or has a negative report, but is symptomatic, or is below 12 years of age and is symptomatic, he/she………till the declaration of the test result.”

Does a traveller who is carrying “Negative report” but not fully vaccinated and/or Not at all vaccinated but is asymptomatic/symptomatic come into the same category? and,

3. Restriction Point No. f) says that students of class IX and above, who have completed 15 years of age, will be allowed to attend classes, only if he/she has taken at least one dose of vaccine against COVID-19,

Isn’t this an imposition?

The one-sided motive behind the covid-19 vaccine policy is disheartening and uncalled for. It is more or less a direct decree to coerce a section of people who doesn’t want to take vaccine against Covid-19 into taking it. Thus, it flouts legality, because ‘vaccination is voluntary’, and so, it is an actionable offence.

Therefore, until a covid-19 vaccine or drug that can fully deter the virus is invented or as long as the virus does not necessitate a vaccine mandatory, it will be good to leave the welfare of every soul in the abled hands of God, and in the interest of the public, the order should be withdrawn or modified or rectified and reissued to accommodate all sections of the people.
