Sir,
For the past three decades I/We have served the Government of Nagaland .And it pains me to see that I along with so
many former employees of the Government of Nagaland have been
left feeling neglected when it comes to accessing our pension
funds. We the individuals who retired during the emergence of
COVID 19 was very unfortunate that our pension payments
have been put on hold to date. Considering the covid SOPs we
obliged with the fact that the processing of our pension documents was to be put on hold. We the pensioners cooperated
keeping in mind a pandemic that has obliterated and limited
every institution vis a vis reallocation of funds to medical needs
of the public, shortage of staff, etc. However, this prolonged
wait feels like ignorance and negligence. For instance, among
the 100s of pensioners, some of us were given out the order for
disbursement of pension benefits as of 13/12/2020 but there
is no new update to date. This pandemic is an uncertain long
battle for each individual and society at large. No one knows
when it shall end but given the financial crisis so many of us
going through, as pensioners, it’s a constant struggle to meet
our daily needs with no access to our pension funds. Some of
us are sole bread earners who have mouths to feed, to pay for our
children’s education, Loans to be cleared and medical treatments
being put on hold. It is our aggrieved plea that the pandemic
should no longer be the reason for the delay in disbursing of
pension funds. I would like to request the aggrieved pensioners
to come forward in appealing for our rights to the Government.
