Day & night temp to remain below normal: NSDMA

Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) on Wednesday informed that both day and night temperatures in Nagaland is expected to remain below normal until first week of February, while minimum temperatures in Kohima would remain between 40C and 60C and maximum would be 160C to 170C until January 29. Thereafter, there would be a gradual increase, NSDMA joint CEO Johnny Ruangmei said in its weather update (January 25 till February 28).
It may be noted that the temperature in Kohima had drastically dipped following snowfall in areas like Dzükou Valley. NSDMA also predicted scattered rains in many parts of Nagaland till January 27 & 28, after which the weather will clear up.
Stating that significant weather activity was not expected until end of February, NSDMA predicted that day temperatures would start increasing post February 10 and days would become comfortable/sunny. But, morning and night would remain cold over hilly regions, especially Kohima, Phek and Tuensang, and cool over plain areas such as Dimapur.
The present weather condition was due to cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and western disturbances remnant.
