WYH lauds UDA govt for Shamator district

Western Yimkhiung Hoho (WYH) has extended its appreciation to chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy chief minister Y Patton, ministers, High Powered Committee (HPC), officials and 14 tribal leaders for their role in fulfilling the long-cherished aspiration of the people of Shamator sub-division to have full-fledged district.
The hoho in a press release said Yimkhiung community would always remember with a sense of gratitude the State government’s January 20 announcement of Shamator as the State’s 16th district.
WYH also lauded Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) for displaying enough maturity and commitment in handling the four decade-old issue in Shamator sub-division.
Further, the hoho appreciated the noble and sagacious gesture of Shamator-Chessore legislator S Keoshu Yimkhiung for willingly playing the role of a facilitator between two tribal bodies and eventually bringing them on board and creating a consensus between them, thereby paving the way for creation of Shamator as the 16th district of Nagaland. The release stated that the timely intervention and judicious handling of the issue by the MLA helped in maintaining the congenial atmosphere in the area and reposed people’s faith on the UDA government. The hoho also extended its best wishes to the MLA on his future assignments, the release added.
