Kohima Lotha Students Union (KLSU) began its two-day 50 years jubilee celebration at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima on Friday.
Special guest for the event, advisor, Information Technology, Science & Technology, New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon said youths were the leaders of tomorrow. Urging the students’ community to introspect their thinking and work together in the common issues faced by the Lotha people, Kikon said the younger generation would inherit the problems faced now. He challenged the youths to be creative and at the same time develop a habit of being constructive and not criticize each other. On the occasion of the jubilee, Kikon urged the students to make a pledge to remain united and subsequently lift up everyone in the community. He exhorted the students to be disciplined in order to secure themselves a good future.
Sharing the exhortation, Dr Chumben Murry, MLA, said jubilee was the right time for a person to understand and weigh their prospects for a better future.
He said the world had now become a global village and therefore it was important for the students to question if they were moving fast enough and at par with the rest of the world or if they were refined or where they stood.
Murry called on the students to lead a holistic life at the same time learn the altitudinal principles through education and one’s culture.
He observed that once the students reach a higher level in their education, they would develop a view and would see things from a different perspective.
