Samagra Shiksha (SS) Nagaland, deputy director Dr. Khatoli said the state unit aim was to provide children (in or out of school) inclusive education. She was speaking at a community awareness and sensitisation programme organised by Nagaland Education Mission Society, SS at Sangtemla Community Hall.
She said SS, with sincere community support, visions to provide inclusive education with early proficiency in reading, writing and mathematical skills along with vocational skills. Dr. Khatoli said by acquiring inclusive education when children come of age then they would be “proficiently employable”.
Delivering a short speech, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir said COVID pandemic necessitated for the introduction of online classes for students.
He said online classes have deprived the classroom atmosphere of socialising with their teachers and fellow students, leading to learning behavioural changes. The DC also appealed to all concern stakeholders to embrace innovative teaching methods.
The awareness and sensitisation programme were on inclusive education, foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), vocational education/pre vocational education/skill hubs for schools drop outs, out of school children under RTE Act, 2009.
The programme was chaired by district IE coordinator, Chubainla and welcome address was delivered by District Education Officer (DEO) Mokokchung Apong Jamir.
The SS resource persons were deputy mission director, Dr. Khatoli, special officer, Vilvino, state coordinator, Puseto and state coordinator, Kapu Chishi.
Altogether, 141 representatives from school institutions and civil societies participated in the programme.
