Salesian College of Higher Education annual sports concludes

The annual sports meet 2022 of Salesian College of Higher Education (SCHE), Dimapur, which started on January 26, concluded January 29.
On the opening day, the daring participants in Marathon race run bravely, strictly adhering to Covid-19 SOPs.
During the day-2, SCHE principal, Fr. Paul Panii, welcomed executive director of AIDA, Fr. Roy George, who was also the day’s chief guest, as well as rector of the Bosco College of Teacher Education, Fr. MP Thomas (the day’s guest of honour); SCHE rector, Fr. VA Thomas, other invited guests, teachers/professors, judges and the participants. SCHE rector, Fr. VA Thomas, prayed for the safety of all the participants.
Fr. Roy in his speech stressed on the importance of developing life-skill (soft-skills). “Sports are important parts in the life of a student, a school and an institution”, he said. He also maintained that many persons, both young and old are health conscious and do lots of physical exercise. He also dwelt on the benefits of sports.
To illustrate the importance of perseverance and courage, even in the face of failures, Fr. Roy cited the example of Edmund Hillary, who made several attempts to able to conquer the world’s highest mountain peak.
During the concluding session on January 29, rector of Good Shepherd Seminary, Fr. Jaison, gave away the prizes to the winners. He congratulated the organizers and participants for conducting the annual sports so successfully despite all odds.
In his concluding speech, Fr. Paul Panii thanked God for the beautiful days of the sports. He congratulated the participants and encouraged them to learn to be God-fearing people and good citizens.
