District-level social audit public hearing held in Mkg

The district-level social audit public hearing for works done under MGNREGA and PMAY-G (FY 2019-20) for 10 villages under three blocks was held in the conference hall of Longkumer Kilem, Mokokchung, on Saturday.
In her introductory note, state resource person (SRP), social audit unit Nagaland, Imlirenla Sanglir appealed to the village functionaries for coordination and to promptly produce required documents for the social audit.
She said that audit meant knowing how far the projects had been implemented and how they were benefiting the community, besides rectifying loopholes.
SRP lamented that PMAY-G implementation was not up to the mark and urged upon all to focus on implementing the scheme with transparency.
She sensitised on PMAY-G convergent schemes such as toilets under SBM, MNGNREG benefits, Jal Jeevan Mission, PMUY, solar initiative etc, which could be availed by PMAY beneficiaries.
Speaking at the programme as observer from the administration, EAC Mokokchung, Vitolu Chishi challenged the village functionaries and RD officers to perform better.
She pointed out that the state would not grow and progress unless the villagers were empowered.
The social audit public hearing was chaired by programme officer (MGNREGA), DRDA Mokokchung, Imyapangla.
After the block officials and village functionaries clarified issues produced by SAU, the house unanimously passed 13 points resolutions including death/migration job cards to be cancelled or either replaced with new HH enrolment.
Need to conduct Gram Sabha relating to any MGNREGA projects and resolutions to be maintained; job cards to be updated every five years; to conduct Rozgar Diwas on a regular basis; to conduct awareness on MGNREGA among beneficiaries.
Wall writings to be maintained in every GP; to select mates in Gram Sabha in the coming days; shelf of the project to be maintained; to have videography and not only photographs; job cards to keep with the custody; public to participate during the public hearing and administration to participate during the Gram Sabha.
