UCYO conducts surprise checking of shops

Upper Chandmari Youth Organisation (UCYO) conducted a surprise checking of neighbouring shops at Upper Chandmari area, here Saturday.
Around 19 shops were caught selling expired goods where and a fine of Rs. 500 was collected from the offenders. Later, the expired goods were disposed at KMC dumping site.
The members also sensitised shopkeepers on the importance of FSSAI license and to ensure sale of safe and healthy foods.
During the activity, the team reminded the community of the notice from deputy commissioner (DC) which stated that construction materials were not to be kept in public streets for more than 10 days.
Earlier, UCYO also conducted a social work around the neighbourhood.
It may be mentioned that the activities were carried out under Upper Chandmari Youth Organisation members who were elected on January 26, recognised by the Upper Chandmari Colony Panchayat.
