Acting on a tip-off, Dimapur police carried out special operation and arrested five persons and seized 999 rounds of 9mm calibre on March 21 from Chumoukedima.
According to DCP (Crime) and PRO of Dimapur police, the ammunition was recovered from an auto rickshaw.
PRO said that the five have been identified as Vikash Kumar Singh (28) son of Jawahar Singh, Janki Singh (56) son of late Narhari Singh, Sudhir Singh son of late Ganesh Singh, Tiatemjen Ao (62) son of late Supong Ao and Toikhu Achumi (56).
In this connection, a case has been registered at Diphupar Police Station and is under investigation, PRO said.
