JCCV suspends ongoing protest

May 5, 2022 | by

Joint Co-ordination Committee of Villages (JCCV) for Dimapur district has decided to suspend the ongoing agitation of locking of Dhansiripar-based government offices and proposed bandh on State highway.
JCCV convenor LK Swu and co-convenor Tsithrongse Sangtam said the decision was taken at JCCV executive meeting following the commitment given by DC Chümoukedima to facilitate and pursue the demands. They said the agitation was suspended for enabling peaceful and amicable solution.
JCCV expressed gratitude to DC for assurance to pursue the matter “vigorously for the interest of the public.” JCCV is protesting against what it described as “arbitrary merger” of some fifty villages under Dhansiripar sub-division and Urra area with the newly created district of Chümoukedima.
