Kohima women police station bags ‘best police station’

Kohima women police station was adjudged the “best police station’ for Nagaland State in the Annual Ranking of Police Stations done by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Altogether, 16,955 Police stations all over India were evaluated and 74 police stations were shortlisted out of which the women police station Kohima was selected as the “Best Performing Police Station” in the State of Nagaland.
A Certificate of Excellence issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs under due signature of the Union Home Minister of India was handed over to the officer-in-charge of Kohima women PS by DGP Nagaland T John Longkumer during a program held at PHQ on May 6, 2022.
While congratulating the Kohima women PS, the DGP acknowledged the invaluable services rendered by women police officers in the state.
He also expressed his happiness that the Kohima women PS was the only women police station in India to make it to the shortlist.
DGP exhorted the remaining police stations in the state to put more efforts to improve their rankings.
At the programme, ADGP & special secretary (Home) Nagaland, SR Saravanan, and ADGP (Law & Order), Sandeep Tamgadge were also awarded the “Antrik Suraksha Seva Padak Medal’ in recognition of their services towards the maintenance of internal security in the State.
