NLA Sectt. notifies

Following the decision of the NPF to join the all-party government– United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and subsequent merger of 21 NPF legislators, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), through a notification, has informed that TR Zeliang has ceased to be the Leader of the Opposition.
NLA commissioner & secretary, Dr. P.J. Antony informed that a notification has been issued following the decision of NPF Legislature Party to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and also the recent merger of the 21 NPF members joining the NDPP, T.R. Zeliang has ceased to be the Leader of the Opposition.
“The order of the Speaker under Para 4(2) of the Tenth Schedule read with the Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (Disqualification on Ground of Defection) Rules, 2019 issued vide Bulletins-II Nos.32 and 33 dated 29.04.2022, accepting the claim, T.R. Zeliang has ceased to be the Leader of the Opposition in the 13 Nagaland Legislative Assembly,” the notification stated.
