Release Rs 1.7 crore sanctioned for IMDH road: Mkg youth bodies to CM

Four Mokokchung-based associations have appealed to chief minister Neiphiu Rio to release the sanctioned amount of Rs 1.7 crore for maintenance Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) road, Mokokchung.
In a representation to the chief minister through DC Mokokchung, youth presidents of Penli Ward Youth Association Imlikumzuk; Artang Ward Youth Association Nungsangyanger; Majakong Ward Youth Association Lanulemba Longchar and Lijaba Lijen Ward Youth Association Lanunungsang, said the people of Mokokchung were happy when he had announced during the Assembly session on September 22 that the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs had sanctioned Rs 1.7 crore for maintenance of road leading to IMDH.
They said the media had also reported the matter and quoted him as stating that work would start as and when the working season began. However, they mentioned of having learnt from Urban Development department office Mokokchung that the sanctioned amount had not been released as on date, due to which the road had not been repaired yet.
They pointed out that current condition of the road was in a deplorable state and causing much inconvenience to the commuters, the sick and the public in general, adding that much had already been written about the appalling condition of the road.
The associations also requested the chief minister to intervene in the matter and ensure that the sanctioned amount was released immediately.
