To enable citizens participation in tackling the cybercrime, the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) of the Home Ministry (MHA) has developed a Cyber Crime Volunteer Framework (CCVF), which aims to bring together the citizens having passion to serve the society.
In this regard, Nagaland police reminded citizens that CCVF can be accessed through National Cybercrime Reporting Portal– www.cybercrime.gov.in). Police informed that any citizen could get oneself associated by registering on NCRP as a “Cyber Volunteer” by registering as a volunteer. PRO Nagaland police said volunteers would serve as a bridge between law enforcement agencies of state and citizens and help spread awareness amongst the people.
In view of the rapid increase in cybercrime and use of emergent technologies by cybercriminals, PRO said it was imperative for public to be aware of the modus operandi of cybercrimes. Further, PRO informed that volunteers would serve as a means to spread awareness, to reach out to the public through various social media platforms etc.
