Dimapur Phom Union supports NFHRCC

Dimapur Phom Union (DPU) has extended support to Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC)’s demand to endorse the foothills road project to the North Eastern Council (NEC) on priority during the current financial year 2023-2024, as per the NLA resolution adopted on September 22, 2022.In a press release, DPU vice president, N T Thamlong Phom and general secretary, H Philip Buchem said the foothills road project was of outmost importance to the people of Eastern Nagaland in particular and the people of Nagaland in general for better accessibility of transportation of goods and people, especially during the time of bandh in Assam and emergencies. It said the route was the shortest without touching the state of Assam. DPU has appealed the state government led by chief minister, Neiphiu Rio to immediately take up the matter as the project was the lifeline of the people of Nagaland.
