Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima holds prayer and fasting programme for Manipur

Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill Kohima (CBCMHK), held a prayer and fasting programme for the people of Manipur which had been witnessing violence for over two months.
Led by senior pastor of the church, Rev Dr Vevo Phesao, the programme was held under the theme, “Heal Manipur” at the church premises during which the church offered prayers and asked for divine intervention to restore peace and normalcy in the neighboring state.
He urged the leaders of Manipur to govern the state with wisdom and maturity and to treat all people equally.

He also appealed to the Manipur government and all right-thinking citizens to sit for a meaningful dialogue which would pave the way for a better understanding among the warring groups.
“We are praying to a living god who sees all and will intervene at the right time. We hope peace and good sense would prevail among the people of Manipur,” Phesao said.
He disclosed that the church had been providing relief materials to those affected by the violence after violence erupted on May 3.
Phesao assured that the church was committed to continue providing assistance whenever needed and that the members were doing their best to stand with the people of Manipur in this difficult time.
The session was attended by hundreds of residents from Kohima including those concerned individuals from other Naga tribes as well.
