Kohima inter-school athletic meet ends

A two-day inter-school athletic meet organized by Kohima district administration in collaboration with the District Sports Office, Kohima District Athletic Association and District Hub for empowerment of women under “Beti Bachao BetiBachao” campaign was held on July 20 and 21 at IG Stadium Kohima.
A press release issued by Kohima district administration informed that speaking at the closing ceremony, DC, Shanavas C encouraged all the participants to strive for better in the field of sports and also commended the performance of the participants in the two-day event. Nearly 300 female students from 33 private and government schools in Kohima participated in the two-day event at Indira Gandhi Stadium under this “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign also known as “Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child”. The campaign was rolled out for the first time in Kohima district and the office of the DC was the nodal agency for the campaign.
