PTCSU visits educational institutions

Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) conducted educational tour on August 7 and 8, where its officials visited all educational institutions in and around Pfutsero jurisdiction.


In a press release, PTCSU through its media cell stated that PTCSU held discussion with all principals of educational institutions and deliberated on various matters and issues faced by educational institutions and also discussed issues with students’ fraternity and students’ councils.


PTCSU said that Pfutsero Town, being epicenter of Chakhesang tribe, has so much to offer for betterment of educational institutions. The union also expressed their pleasure to saying that schools and colleges were doing their best for their academic excellence performance and overall students’ growth and appealed parents for active participation of their children in schools and at home.


PTCSU expressed its apprehension on the usage of cell phone as “great damage” to the students and also on the alarming increase of using tobaccos substance by students and usage of alcohol, while insisting that sexual harassment, mental health issues and bullies were to be put to check.


The union warned of strict action to shop owners selling tobacco substance/alcohol to students with uniform and selling it to minors.
The union appealed to educational institutions for setting up students’ redressal/grievance cell to address issue of student’s difficulties and concerns.


PTCSU also observed that some Government Schools lacked basic facilities, proper infrastructures, teaching staffs, grade 4 staff, substitute teacher issues and irregularity of the teachers, water supplies, poor road condition leading to schools and colleges, sports equipments, mid-day meal, etc., and appealed concern department to look into the matter urgently at the earliest.


It also appealed concern department/contractor of building new Pfutsero Government College to complete the work drafted as per plan at the earliest possible and appealed the concern department to upgrade college according to the new course requirements.


PTCSU also warned all teachers to be diligent in their duties, failing which the union informed that report would be sent to directorate office.


PTCSU further expressed on the need to set up more colleges and higher secondary of different streams and course in Pfutsero town to meet the needs of the district and students’ fraternity in general and appealed both government and private entities to open colleges of science and commerce stream and other technical course.
