Medziphema Royal FC and Tehok FC emerged as winners of their respective matches in the ongoing, Late Capt N Kengurüse Memorial Football Tournament 2023 at IG Stadium, here on Friday. In the first match, Medziphema blanked New Agers FC 3-0 and qualified for the next round. After an uneventful first half, Medziphema’s Kikruzelie scored the first goal for the team in the 44th minute.
Within 8 minutes of the first goal, Medziphema’s Akhingba scored the second goal in the 52nd minute. The third and final goal for Royal FC was scored by Komezo in the 79th minute. In the second match, Tehok FC bested Chang Sports Association 3-0 and progressed to the next round. Tehok’s Lima opened the score sheet with his goal in the 7th minute. Later in the 18th and 53rd minutes, Neisede scored 2 more goals taking the score to 3.
Saturday’s matches
1st match: A Yhome FC Vs Holy Angels Sports Team – 8 a.m.
2nd match: Peace United FC Vs St Xavier’s College Jalukie – 12 noon.
3rd match: Vanguard Academy Vs Beckon FC – 2 p.m.
