NCC celebrates platinum jubilee in Mokokchung

Cadets and staff of 25 Naga Battalion NCC celebrated its 75th anniversary (platinum jubilee) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) in a solemn function on November 27 in Mokokchung.


A press release by 25 Naga Battalion NCC, stated that the event started with paying respects to those who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in the wreath laying ceremony at Mokokchung War Memorial, followed by flag hoisting and NCC song.


Speaking on the occasion, Commanding Officer, 25 Naga Battalion NCC, Col CST Swamy, briefed the gathering that included NCC cadets, associate NCC officers and staff, on the history and genesis of NCC in India. He called upon cadets to dedicate for the betterment of nation and to follow the motto “Unity and Discipline”.


The officer also explained about benefits of voluntary blood donation and how 25 Naga Battalion NCC had been encouraging and facilitating voluntary blood donation amongst NCC cadets.


He later highlighted benefits of joining NCC and value of A, B and C Certificates in gaining employment in uniformed forces and urged cadets to attend the upcoming Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) from January 4 to 13, 2024.


During the celebration, Toshimanen and Meren of the unit were felicitated for their contribution in renovation of the office.


The event culminated with voluntary blood donation by the cadets from Mayangnokcha Govt. Higher Secondary School and an ex-cadet from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.


The event was attended by 80 cadets and staff and was coordinated by Lt Col Siddharth Upadhyay, First Officer Temjen and Subedar Nimai Chandra Das of 25 Naga Battalion NCC.
