Global battlefield

Nearly three months after the terror attacks by Hamas terrorists on Israel on October 7, the sentiment has undergone major shift from pro-Israel and today to pro-Palestine. This shift is because of increasing number of civilian casualties in Gaza as Israel steps up its onslaught aimed at Hamas. Israel has vowed to finish Hamas but the terrorist group uses civilians as human shields and even constructed tunnels underneath hospitals in Gaza. Israel has asked Palestinians to evacuate but a majority have been held back under threat by Hamas. Since presence of Hamas in the area is a military target, Israeli forces are justified in attacking Hamas. However, as civilian casualty mounts the scene of destruction and death screaming on television screens by pro-Hamas/Palestinian media has horrified the world. The Israeli army has taken control of Gaza but street fights as well as guerrilla attacks by Hamas is proving to be a huge challenge for the Israelis. Added to the herculean task of achieving the total annihilation of Hamas and also prevent loss of civilian life, Israel faces the other potent threat from Hamas tunnels that run like a wide underground railway network underneath Gaza. While making rapid strides and also delivering fatal blows on Hamas, Israel has chosen to overlook the cost on civilians in Gaza. The continued bombardment of Gaza by Israeli guns have forced the October 7 gory, brutality, rapes and murder of Israeli civilians and captives by Hamas recedes to the background. As the world opinion, heavily influenced by anti-Israeli left-liberals, cry hoarse over human rights issue against Israel, Hamas has received an unexpected flip and demands for cease fire is leaving Israel with fewer friends. If cease fire is enforced it will mean that Hamas will be spared the ignominy of defeat and which could translate as a victory against Israel. Geo-politically, the Gaza war has exposed a global master plan involving Russia-China-Iran triumvirate of which Hamas being a willing accomplice –cum- guinea pig. Russia appears to have played its cards very well as it has countered America over Ukraine by opening another front in Palestine. Since the launch of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in late February 2022, Iran and Russia have responded to U.S. sanctions with a program to “dump the dollar” and to connect bank-to-bank using SPRS, the Russian counterpart of the financial messaging system SWIFT, utilized by the rest of the world, with the goal of sanctions busting and intensifying their mutual economic ties. America has clearly been outfoxed and worse, its own NATO ally, Turkey under president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is at the forefront of anti-Israel lobby in west Asia. The Russians have taken revenge against Israeli involvement in Ukraine and in this game, even Turkey is on Russia’s side. Besides this, Russia has also got China and North Korea together in strengthening anti-US alliance. America has suffered militarily across the globe mainly because of the conceit of its leaders who seemed to have a disconnect between reality and policy. If Israel fails to achieve its military objective within a month, then it will cost the nation very dear and not forgetting the US which is being bled on two fronts-Urkaine and Gaza.
