Rengma Hoho has issued an appeal for urgent and peaceful resolution of dispute in Kezoltsa/Kezürü area. RH president Tesinlo Semy and general secretary Shatilo Kent in a statement expressed deep concern over the escalating tensions between the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) and Mao community in Kezoltsa/Kezürü area.

As the ongoing dispute had led to adverse effects, causing distress and anguish between both the communities, they urgently appealed to all parties involved to prioritise mutual respect and promote peaceful coexistence. They specifically urged the Angami Public Organisation (APO) and SAPO to reconsider their ultimatum issued to the Mao community members and refrain from any drastic action that could escalate the situation further. They stressed that it was important to allow peace to prevail, especially considering that the conditions outlined in the ultimatum had already been met through the Tenyimi People’s Organisation’s (TPO) mediation.

They said they were pleased to note that security forces and Section 144 of the CrPC had been withdrawn from the disputed area, and the damaged rest house reconstructed. They called upon both the communities to place their trust in the TPO for a peaceful resolution to the dispute. At this critical juncture, they earnestly prayed for mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, emphasising the importance of fostering the spirit of brotherhood among the Nagas.
