DUCCF, DDGBA & GBUD(S) laud police for nabbing drug mafia

The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF), Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) and GB Union Dimapur Sadar (GBUD-S) have lauded the Commissioner of Police (CP), Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie and Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland Rupin Sharma for their dedication and sacrifice in apprehending Bahar Uddin, the drug mafia of the Northeast.
In a joint statement, presidents of DUCCF Zasivikho Zakiesato, DDGBA Hokuto Zhimomi and GBUD(S) Kholie Kapfo, strongly condemned the criminal activities of Bahar Uddin, who was also president of Muslim Jame Masjid New Market, Dimapur.
They accused him of not only destroying the lives of young Naga generation and families, but also destroying the image of Dimapur and the Nagas in general.
Terming the involvement of a religious leader of Muslim Jame Masjid Committee New Market, Dimapur in such illegal drug activities and the drug mafia as a dangerous thing, they demanded that such dangerous religious committees must be dissolved at any cost and by any means.
They also demanded that the investigation authority should thoroughly investigate the case and leave no stone unturned, insisting that Bahar Uddin must be punished to the fullest extent as per law and ensuring that he did not get bail.
They emphasised that such criminals must be jailed for life time for a peaceful environment in the society.
The organizations also acknowledged the dedication and sacrifice of the CP and DGPin the mission to eradicate all forms of illegal drugs and spurious liquor to protect the community.
“We also strongly urge the law enforcing agencies to further unearth the source of these drugs and psychopathic-related narcotics since Dimapur is the transit point for the transport of drugs to the rest of the country. We also urge the Muslim community of Dimapur to look into this matter with utmost seriousness and initiate necessary measures for the sake of posterity,” they stressed.
The organizations declared that they were always ready to extend support to the departmentsin their move to eradicate illegal drugs and spurious liquor.
