Prominent Muslim elders of Dimapur, GBs and the Muslim Jammat at a meeting held on April 5, 2024 have dissolved the New Market Jame Masjid Committee led by alleged drug kingpin Bahar Uddin and the advisory board.

At the meeting held at New Market Jame Masjid premises, an ad hoc committee consisting of seven members was set up in order to run the administration of New Market Jame Masjid. The ad hoc committee would function till the new body was formed on or before six months with effect from April 6, 2024.

The meeting lauded the Nagaland police led by DGP Rupin Sharma in arresting the accused. The meet also condemned the act of Bahar Uddin and hoped that the law would take its own course of action, stated a press release issued by ad hoc committee chairman Shanawar Shaikh alias Munna.
