Miss Universe India: BASN audition in July

Beauty Aesthetics Society Nagaland (BASN) has announced an open audition for the selection of Miss Universe India, marking a significant first for the state’s participation in the coveted pageant. This announcement came during a press conference held at Symphony Cafe in Kohima on Tuesday.

During the conference, BASN’s Media and Information Secretary, Sarah Konyak, revealed that the Miss Universe Nagaland India competition would be launched on the same day as the audition, scheduled for July 2 at Niathu Resort in Chumukedima.

Interested women applicants, including past titleholders, aged 18 and above, are invited to participate by contacting the organizers through BASN’s official social media pages.

In a strategic move to ensure fair representation across the nation, Miss Universe India is appointing State Directors from every state in India. These directors will collaborate with State Pageants to directly organize competitions in their respective states under the Miss Universe India banner. For Nagaland, BASN President Mele Pucho has been appointed as the state director.

The outfit requirements for the audition include shorts and a black vest, a body-hugging black cocktail dress, pencil heels or stilettos (3 inches and above), light makeup, and no glasses or lenses, padded lingerie, or jewelry. There is no age limit, but participants must be indigenous to Nagaland.

Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, founded in 2015 by Nikhil Anand, Chairman of Glamanand Group, headquartered in New Delhi, obtained the rights for Miss Universe India in Feb 2024. This move aims to provide pageant aspirants the opportunity to compete nationally and represent their states on a global platform. Official partners of BASN includes Niathu Resort, Sky Garden, Runway India and Alemtemshijamir former Chief Secretary of Nagaland.
