Following the recent formation of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) on the Naga political issue, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) PAC has resolved that Congress Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren will not be part of any meetings or resolutions of the PAC without prior consent from PAC-NPCC and the All India Congress Committee.
In a press note, NPCC vice president GK Zhimomi said that the party resolved this during the during the PAC-NPCC meeting held on June 14 at Congress Bhavan Kohima, chaired by Supongmeren Jamir. While appreciating the state government for constituting the Political Affairs Committee to review and discuss all major issues relating to the Naga political issue and including Supongmeren Jamir as a member, the PAC-NPCC, however, noted that various committees constituted earlier by the state government on the Naga political issue have often resulted in “rhetoric and repetition” without making significant headway.
Therefore, the party resolved that the Lok Sabha MP will not be a part of any PAC meeting resolutions without the consent of the PAC-NPCC and AICC.
