Phek Police has clarified that the news item about an alleged incident of rape and an assault on Phek police official by mob circulated in YouTube Channel was fake. According to PRO Phek Police, the YouTube video, titled “Morning News in Nagamese” by CL Chang, dated June 13, was enquired and ascertained by the police and found out to be fake.
PRO informed that appropriate legal course of action was undergoing and a complaint has been lodged at Cyber Cell PHQ for further necessary action. Phek police further requested everyone to refrain from spreading fake news and rumors and cautioned that action would be taken under IPC sections IT Act.
