IMD predicts rainfall for NE states

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fairly widespread to widespread moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning very likely over the North Eastern region during the next five days. In its daily bulletin, IMD predicted isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Arunachal Pradesh on July 28-29; Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Manipur on July 28 and 30 and Sikkim on July 26-28.


Hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail over Assam and Tripura during the next two days, IMD added. It, however, said that there will be no significant change in maximum temperatures over most parts of the country.
