Power supply disrupted in Phek

DIMAPUR: Power department has informed power supply to Phek district and Meluri area had been affected due to line fault in the 132 kV Meluri-Kiphire Transmission line since August 12, 2024.

In a press release, executive engineer transmission division Kohima stated that power supply to Kiphire and Phek districts including LHEP was being fed temporarily through 66 kV Tuensang-Kiphire transmission line after the main 132 kV Kohima-Meluri-Kiphire transmission line was damaged by landslide due to two-lane road earth cutting works by NHIDCL near Losami village, Phek district in September 2023, which was yet to be restored. The department said it was making all efforts to restore the 132 kV Meluri-Kiphire transmission line at the earliest.
