Nagaland: ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan’ launched in Tuensang

“Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” a national initiative focused on achieving a Drug-Free India was launched at DC’s Conference Hall, Tuensang on September 11.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Commisioner, Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa informed that “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan” was an awareness programme for Drug Free India and much needed programme especially in the district. She also appealed to Church leader and NGOs to support in identifying the person for detoxification and rehabilitation of the addicts.

SP Tuensang, Kanchan Kumar Kandpal, informed that intake of drugs has increased in the district and the problem of drug users will be tackle with a good team focusing mainly on the supplier. Kanchan also suggested for drugs Free Model Village in the district which will bring good example to others.

Dr. Imli Temsu Ozukum, CMO Tuensang in his short speech informed that many disease occurred due to substance abuse leading to financial losses. He also informed that District Hospital Tuensang has de-addiction centres where many patients has been treated minimising the drug users to some extent.

The programme was chaired by T. Longlang Luckpan, DWO and invocation by Rev. H. Sangkap pastor, TTBL.
