Nagaland: Central team inspects landslide-hit areas in Zunheboto

Inter Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited Zunheboto district on Wednesday for the on-the-spot assessment of the situation in the wake of landslides during the monsoon.
According to DPRO Zunheboto, the visiting team was led by team leader, joint secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, (Freedom Fighters & Rehabilitation Division) Anant Kishore Saran, accompanied by other members.
Earlier, the team had a briefing with district administration, DDMA members, ZTC and all concerned departments at deputy commissioner’s conference hall. During the meeting, all the concerned departments apprised the central team of the current ground situations through powerpoint presentation.
Later, the team visited the landslide affected colonies and areas and interacted with affected families and colony leaders. On Thursday, the IMCT visit held meeting with officials from the district administration of Tuensang, Shamator and Noklak at deputy commissioner’s conference hall, Zunheboto. At the meeting, respective DDMAs from all three districts gave powerpoint presentation highlighting the impact of calamities in the wake of the landslides/flash floods during the monsoon 2024.
The team members included superintending engineer, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, Regional Office CWC, Shillong, Sarvana Kumar, superintending engineer, Ministry of Road, Transport & Highways, Regional Office Guwahati, Adelbert Susngi, assistant director, Ministry of Rural Development; Ranjana Saini, section officer, department of expenditure, Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, Atul Bamnai.
