India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that fairly widespread to widespread light/moderate rainfall was very likely over North East region during the week.
In its weather bulletin, IMD stated that isolated very heavy rainfall was very likely over Mizoram and Tripura, isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh during September 14-16; Assam & Meghalaya; Nagaland & Manipur during Sept 15-17; Mizoram & Tripura on Sept 14; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim Sept 13-15. On Thursday, IMD said the southwest monsoon may start withdrawing from the country between September 19 and 25.
