Vehicle Parking Management launched in Zunheboto

The vehicle parking management initiative was launched on November 5 at DC Office Junction, Zunheboto. Delivering key note address, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Executive Officer of ZTC, Keyirangding Hegui, highlighted the positive changes following the recent Urban Local Body elections.

He said that the newly empowered Councillors, under the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, were focused on improving sanitation and traffic regulation. He emphasized that the vehicle parking initiative was a key step in making Zunheboto more organized and tourist-friendly.


Hegui assured the public that parking tax revenue would be used for the town’s development, with a focus on transparency. He expressed confidence that Zunheboto residents would support the initiative, as Dimapur and Kohima had with similar schemes.
SDO Civil, Sukhalu Chishi, also spoke at the event, stressing the importance of collective effort for the welfare of the people.


The event concluded with the flagging off of the parking management and tax collection initiative by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, under the authority of the Nagaland Municipal Act.


The system will be enforced in accordance with the Motor Vehicles Act 1988, with full support from the police. The event was chaired by Councillor and ZTC In-charge of Traffic Regulation, Kakishe Zhimo.
