Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) conducted training and demonstration programmes on farming activities to empower the famers on the use of modern technology.
In this line, ATMA Mon, Chen Block carried out demonstration on the uses of bio-fertilizers on February 21 at Chentwetnyu, Mon. Resource person, BTM, Z. Nchumthung Shitirie highlighted on the benefits of use of bio-fertilizers for increase in crop yield, increase in availability of nutrients and enhancing physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil. Farmers were also advised on several precautionary measures pertaining to the bio-fertilizers. Farmers were also encouraged to perform the demonstration for a more hands approach for the demonstration.
ATMA Mon, Angjangyang block conducted training programme on package of practices on Ginger Cultivation at Angjangyang village on February 22, 2025. The resource person of the programme was ATM Longrikaba Ao.
The participants were trained on modern cultivation method of Ginger such as climate, land preparation, seed propagation and land management etc. Management on diseases and post harvest technology was also discussed.
He also explained about the importance and awareness of economic and medicinal value of Ginger to the farmers. Altogether 16 farmers were benefited from the training. Various season seeds were also distributed to the participants.
ATMA Mon Phomching Block conducted training programme on poultry management at Tangnyu village on February 22, 2025. BTM Nunghothung Odyuo explained about poultry management particularly on Kuroiler breed of chickens. He also highlighted briefly on how to maintain chicken coops. Kuroiler chicks were also distributed among the participants.
ATMA Mon, Mon block conducted a training programme on “Organic farming for sustainable agriculture” at Chiguhching village on February 22, 2025. A press release by ATMA Mon informed that the resource person ATM, Manlen explained about the importance of organic farming and its practices ensuring productivity and sustainability of the field and field crops.
Demonstration on preparation of neem extracts for pest management was also carried out. Seeds of maize, cowpea and okra were distributed to the farmers. A total of 16 participants attended the training.
ATMA Mon, Aboi Block conducted training programme on the topic“ Package Of Practices Of Solanaceous Crops “, on February 21, 2025 at Ngangching village. The resource person BTM Mhachamo thanked the farmers for attending the program and encouraged them to prepare the soil properly and make proper nursery bed for sowing the seeds and transplant the saplings at the right time for planting.
