Business Association of Nagas discuses business strategies

The Business Association of Nagas (BAN) conducted its Annual General Meeting on February 28 at Espace, Duncan Bosti, Dimapur, bringing together key members and entrepreneurs to discuss economic and business strategies for Nagaland.


Delivering presidential address, BAN president, L. Mongkum Jamir outlined BAN’s vision for the next three years, focusing on business enablement, financial access, policy advocacy, rural entrepreneurship, and creating a structured business ecosystem.

He reaffirmed BAN’s commitment to supporting India’s Viksit Bharat vision, aiming for economic self-sufficiency, industrialization, and global business expansion.

In his keynote address chairman of NIDC and Director of Tetso College, Kvulo Lorin, urged the Naga business community to expand beyond local markets and compete on national and global levels.

He emphasized the importance of digital transformation, financial literacy, and sustainable growth, encouraging entrepreneurs to adopt technology, structured financial planning, and global strategies.

He stressed collaboration over competition and advised businesses to form alliances for broader market reach. He also recognized BAN’s role in shaping the entrepreneurial ecosystem and encouraged the association to be proactive in policy advocacy and investment facilitation.


At the meeting, BAN also elected office bearers for 2025-2027, to be led by L Mongkum Jamir as president, Zubeno Mozhui as vice president for Women, Benthungo Kithan as vice president for State, Colo Mero as vice president for national, and Inoto Kinimi as vice president for international. The team also comprised of 14 executive council members, three governing council members, and four advisors.


The meeting concluded with a strong commitment to building a self-reliant, globally competitive business community. The newly elected leadership and BAN members outlined a clear roadmap for the next three years, focusing on entrepreneurship, innovation, and policy advocacy.

Discussions emphasized expanding market reach, embracing digital transformation, and strengthening the business ecosystem to empower local entrepreneurs, while positioning Nagaland as a key player in national and international trade.


Earlier, the meeting commenced with invocation by Warehouse Church, pastor Jack Pucho, vote of thanks by executive council member, Alobo Naga, and benediction by Convenor, Standing Committee on Sport, Colo Mero.
