5 College buses flagged off to enhance student transportation

Department of Higher Education has taken a major step toward improving student transportation with the launch of five new college buses during the Government principals meeting at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima on May 21.


The buses were flagged off by minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, in the presence of secretary H&TE Sarita Yadav, additional secretary HE Sentiyanger Pongen, ex-officio director of Higher Education V. Lovitoly Sema, along with other officials and principals of government colleges.


The newly launched buses were handed over to Kohima Science College, Jotsoma (Autonomous), Kohima College, Dimapur Government College, Phek Government College, and Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung. The initiative aims to provide students with safer and more reliable transportation to and from their campuses.


During the event, Temjen Imna Along expressed gratitude to chief minister Neiphiu Rio for his continued support in improving student welfare and higher education in Nagaland. He also commended the department of Higher Education for successfully implementing the initiative, which will make commuting easier for students.


Department of Higher Education has assured that it will continue working toward creating a student-friendly academic environment and plans to introduce more initiatives to enhance educational infrastructure in the future.
