Educator and researcher Tiawapangla released her book “Language Across the Curriculum” at Hotel Cimorb, Old Ministers’ Hill, Kohima, on May 23. The book was unveiled by Dr. Gomesh Mosahary, principal of Sazolie College of Teacher Education, who praised the author for recognizing the need for such a resource. He emphasized that B.Ed students often struggle with their syllabus, and this book would serve as a valuable guide.
In her address, Tiawapangla shared that her experience as a teacher led her to write the book. The subject is part of the first semester in the B.Ed program, and she often wished for a single, consolidated text to simplify the complex concepts.
She noted that the B.Ed syllabus spans multiple disciplines, including education, linguistics, psychology, and philosophy, making it challenging for students and teachers to rely on just one source. Libraries provide reference materials, but gaps remain.
The book was published by Pine Press, Kohima. The launch event began with an invocation by Sungtinaro Jamir, Assistant Professor at Kohima Bible College, followed by remarks from Theyie Whiso, representing Pine Tree Kohima, the publisher.
Tiawapangla is an Assistant Professor at Sazolie College of Teacher Education, Jotsoma, and a radio host for Morning Echoes on Akashvani Kohima. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Nagaland University.
