He was 94.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">According to family members, Saku\u2019s funeral service will be held at his residence in Khermahal on March 27 at 9 a.m. and later at 11 a.m. at DABA Town Fellowship. He will be laid to rest at family cemetery in his estate at Khermahal, Dimapur.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">He is survived by his wife, one son, seven daughters, one daughter-in law, six sons-in-law, 31 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">Hailing from Aonokpu (Nokpuyimchen) village in Mokokchung district, Saku was one of the pioneers in the field of business from the community and was into timber operations. He took active part in various civil society organisations. He was also one of those few initial members of the Ao Baptist Church in Dimapur. He later served the church as a pastor on two different occasions.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: 13.3333px;\">As a notable business man in Dimapur, Saku was quite popular among the non-Naga communities who would refer to him as Saku Babu and later over the years as Saku Baba.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saku Ao, a prominent citizen and one of the pioneers of Dimapur from the Ao community, passed away on March 25, 2018 at Eden Hospital Dimapur after a brief illness.
