In a press note, MTLT president Imkummeren Jamir and MTLT grievances cell convener Aolong Imchen said the offices were unlocked in view of the written reply from Power secretary, produced before the MTLT on August 29 through DC Mokokchung.<\/div>\n<div>MTLT, however, cautioned the department that the secretary\u2019s reply was not satisfactory. It said the offices were &nbsp;unlocked with the assurance of cooperation from the department as well as \u201cits acceptance of bearing the risk of expediting the matter.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>Stating that this was \u201cjust a temporal goodwill gesture\u201d, MTLT said any failure to execute the assurance would necessitate further drastic steps in the interest of the public. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Further, MTLT said it has declared to the DC and the power department, Mokokchung that it would not withdraw its endorsement of the All Ward Union Mokokchung (AWUM) to withhold the electricity bill to the government from July 2016. \u201cIt also reiterated to wholeheartedly support the AWUM as to whatever action the Union might take with regard to the power crisis in Mokokchung,\u201d stated MTLT. Meanwhile, MTLT has furnished the details of power secretary\u2019s response to its \u2018Demand Charter for Power in Mokokchung\u2019.<\/div>\n<div>1. The 2.5MVA was upgraded to 5 MVA in October 2015. This is in line with the MTLT\u2019s demand in 2015.<\/div>\n<div>2. Additional 33KV transmission line from 132KV Sub Station at Aolijen to Mokokchung is provisioned in the NERPSIP scheme funded by GOI and World Bank.<\/div>\n<div>3. Under NE Region Power System Improvement Project (NERPSIP) funded by GOI\/WB two (2) nos. Of 10MVA 33\/11KV power transformer will be installed in Mokokchung. PowerGrid of India has been assigned to execute the project by Ministry of Power, GOI and not the State Power Department. Tendering process is going on and fully managed by PowerGrid of India. The State Power Department will write to PowerGrid to expedite the execution of the project. &nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>4. With regard to the District Coordination Committee, Department of Power will take necessary follow-up action as required in compliance with the IE Act 2003.<\/div>\n<div>5. The proposal for exclusive\/dedicated transmission line for Mokokchung town is ideal but limited resource is an issue.<\/div>\n<div>6. Detailed report will be shared as the same are being sought from CEs\/Division Office with regard to sanction\/work order\/payment of 50 lacs to Mecavo Power Works as alleged.
