Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey were basking in the glow of becoming new parents to their twins Moroccan and Monroe, when the couple was approached by Child Protective Services while still in the hospital!<\/div>\n
\u201cChild Protective Services actually came to me while I was in the hallway and said that they were here to see me because there had been allegations that there was drug and alcohol use during the stay in the hospital,\u201d Cannon, 30, told CNN\u2019s Piers Morgan on Thursday.<\/div>\n
\u201cI was like, \u2018Well, how would that even be possible? How could the hospital even allow that?\u2019\u201d<\/div>\n
Well, it seems that it was just a big misunderstanding that led the government agency to Cannon and Carey.<\/div>\n
\u201cIt all started when a nurse suggested to my wife that if you drink Guinness, the dark beer, the yeast improves breastfeeding,\u201d Cannon explained. \u201cI don\u2019t know if someone heard that, but then they were saying my wife was drinking beer. People will do anything to try to conjure up a story.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhen I spoke to the person from Child Protection Services, they said, \u2018This is ridiculous, we\u2019re going to make sure this isn\u2019t the case,\u2019\u201d Cannon recalled. \u201cTo even have to deal with that, with my wife in the state that she\u2019s in while we\u2019re in the hospital, to even have to think about someone possibly wanting to investigate your children…it\u2019s sad at the end of the day.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really sad when you think about people trying to make a buck off newborn babies,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
Mariah and the babies, born on April 30, remain hospitalized while she recovers from a Caesarean delivery and the babies are treated in a neonatal intensive care unit. <\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
