Pop singer Rihanna and socialite Ben Goldsmith have little in common, but a backstage meeting between the two has become the source of much speculation after a series of cryptic messages about their encounter appeared on Twitter. Ben, the younger brother of Tory MP Zac Goldsmith and socialite Jemima Khan, struck up an unlikely friendship with Rihanna after the two met backstage at a party thrown by Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone to celebrate the engagement of his daughter Petra. Ben was so \u2018very taken\u2019 with the singer after she performed for guests at the lavish soiree held at London\u2019s Battersea Power Station that he went on Twitter to post a picture of her performing in a black sequined dress with the caption \u2018Too hot\u2019.<\/div>\n
After she finished her routine, he asked for a personal introduction to the 23-year-old singer, and was taken backstage to meet her by Petra, whose father had paid the star 250,000 pounds to perform at the event. \u201cBen was out on his own because he and his wife Kate couldn\u2019t get a nanny on Friday night. He was desperate to meet Rihanna and asked Petra to organise an introduction, which she did. She took him backstage to meet her and Ben was rather starstruck,\u201d a party guestsaid.
