For years, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been consistently invited to the Cannes Film Festival in France. When asked about this, actor Saif Ali Khan justified that it possibly because \u2018she is a pretty face\u2019. Needless to say, quite a few controversies were sparked.<\/div>\n
There have been plenty of speculations ever since, about the cause of the remark being the alleged rivalry between Aishwarya Rai and Saif\u2019s girlfriend Kareena Kapoor. In fact, many even dug up the past to the days when the relations between Kareena\u2019s sister Karisma Kapoor and Ash\u2019s husband Abhishek Bachchan had soured, reported Mumbai Mirror.<\/div>\n
However, Saif is shocked at the misinterpretation of his statement and has cleared the air saying, \u201cI was asked about the relevance of Ash going to Cannes and I said she is the international face of India. I said we should be proud about her beautiful face. One website quoted me verbatim, complimenting Ash, which is what I meant in the first place. But others have misquoted me. I would never say something like that about her.\u201d<\/div>\n
So, no grudges here, it seems.<\/div>\n
