{"id":103269,"date":"2016-08-27T22:25:57","date_gmt":"2016-08-27T22:25:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2016\/08\/27\/psu-dismayed-over-incomplete-road-project\/"},"modified":"2016-08-27T22:25:57","modified_gmt":"2016-08-27T22:25:57","slug":"psu-dismayed-over-incomplete-road-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2016\/08\/27\/psu-dismayed-over-incomplete-road-project\/","title":{"rendered":"PSU dismayed over incomplete road project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/><\/p>\n<div>Puilwa Students Union (PSU), Peren has expressed dismay and anger at a construction firm for \u201cpoor workmanship, negligence and non-completion\u201d of road project under NLCPR from Kohima-Leikie junction to Tepuiki-Barak via old and New Puilwa, in Peren district.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In a press release, PSU president Isaprang Hegeu stated that the road construction project was allotted to M\/s Jordan Construction Company, Dimapur to be executed in three phases from 2009-2016 by chief engineer PWD (R&amp;B), Nagaland. The union said the phase-I construction of road from Kohima-Leikie Rd. junction in Peren to old Puilwa village, 15km, was issued to the company dated December 2, 2009 with terms and condition that the works should be completed within 18 months.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>However, PSU said the work was still incomplete despite withdrawing the total amount sanctioned for the project. Further, the union stated that phase-II road construction of 10KM was again allotted to the same firm vide order dated April 4, 2011 with terms and condition for completion within 24 months. However, PSU said only 60% of the works have been completed till date thought total amount due for the work has already been withdrawn without complete execution of &nbsp;work. Phase-III works for 15km was again allotted to the same company vide order dated January 11, 2013 with the term and conditions stating to be completed within 24 months w.e.f January 2013. With regard to phase-III works, PSU said even the formality ground works was yet to be completed but have already withdrawn about 75% of the sanctioned amount.<\/div>\n<div>In the light of the above, the union has appealed to the PWD (R&amp;B) to \u201cto ensure that all financial transactions against Ms\/ Jordan construction company Ltd. against this particular road construction so mentioned above, to be withheld\/ kept in abeyance till all works are completed and verified.\u201d<\/div>\n<div>PSU also urged the responsible authority to conduct physical verification of the said road and institute appropriate necessary actions as deemed fit.
